Sustainable Buildings: Design and Construction in the 21st Century
Patrick Gallagher, LEED AP
Vice President of Estimating, BP Mechanical Corporation

The built environment has a vast impact on the natural environment, human health, and the economy. By adopting green building strategies, we can maximize both economic and environmental performance. Green construction methods can be integrated into buildings at any stage, from design and construction to renovation and deconstruction. However the most significant benefits can be obtained if the design and construction team take an integrated approach from the earliest stages of a building project. This course teaches the basics of sustainability and the essential strategies and work practices that make buildings green. You gain an understanding of the impact buildings have on the environment and the unique challenges of building a green sustainable building.
Meets: Tuesdays, May 22, 29, June 5, 12, and 19 (6:10-8:10PM)

We really should build sustainable buildings nowadays because of the state of the environment. If we want to save planet earth then we should go green as soon as possible before it’s too late.
