Ceil and Michael E. Pulitzer Foundation Renews Support of Ethiopia Water, Educational Initiatives

by |April 30, 2010

The Ceil and Michael E. Pulitzer Foundation renewed its commitment to water and educational initiatives in Ethiopia with a $354,050 gift.  The foundation’s continued support will benefit the last phase of the Water Capture System in Koraro, Ethiopia, fellowships in Earth Institute Masters programs and Millennium Villages project interns.

Students whose internships were supported by the Pulitzer Foundation in 2009 gained  firsthand experience working on programs in public health, business development, agriculture and infrastructure. Internships last for several months, allowing students to make meaningful and tangible contributions toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals through participation in scalable, community-led demonstration projects that alleviate poverty.  Watch Millennium Villages project interns in action in the engaging video above.
