Josh Rosenfield has an ambitious and admirable career mission: “helping companies to generate healthy profits by meeting society’s needs and conserving nature.” He chose the MS in Sustainability Management program because it allowed him to study part-time and continue his work with Deloitte’s Global Sustainability and Climate Change Services team. “I believe that having a master’s degree will be quite useful because many leadership positions look for post-baccalaureate education.”
“Having a degree in the field of sustainability legitimizes my career path and helps me to better understand the variety of people I work with on new initiatives at Verizon.” Nicole deFuria chose the MS in Sustainability Management Program as a way to complement her professional work as a member of Verizon’s Corporate Sustainability Team.
“After years of working in numerous facets of the financial services industry, late 2008 drove me to re-evaluate my life purpose and realize at my core was an unwavering dedication to promoting sustainable practices.” Scott Miller joined the MS in Sustainability Management program as a part-time student in fall 2011 to align his career goals with what he believes to be his true purpose.
Diana Beltran joined the MS in Sustainability Management Program because she viewed its curriculum as a way to merge her two passions: hospitality and the environment.
Craig Holland chose the MS in Sustainability Management program because he wanted to gain the knowledge base necessary to be a more effective manager to the architects with whom he works at the design firm, Hoberman Associates.
“I hope to combine the technical, industry-specific skills with the policy and management experience that I have gained from the program to pursue a career here in NYC working with green buildings and energy efficiency.” Alyssa Zucker joined the MPA in Environmental Science and Policy Class of 2012 because she saw the program’s dual emphasis on the natural sciences and policy management as essential to her career aspirations.
Current President of the Sustainability Management Student Association, former officer in the United States Air Force and consultant, Jonathan Cain discusses his experience in the MS in Sustainability Management program. Now equipped with a variety of skills and tools, Cain is posed to develop clear, coordinated strategies to address challenging sustainability issues.
