Summer 2016 Part-Time Internship Available
Job Description: The Earth Institute seeks a part-time intern to support the Master of Science in Sustainability Management graduate program during the summer of 2016 from May 25 through Sept. 2, with the possibility of continuing into the fall semester.
Major assignments for the summer will be related to the admissions cycle for fall 2016, including assisting in tracking and compiling data on current and incoming students, applicants and prospective applicants as well as helping with preparations for incoming student orientation in August. Intern responsibilities will also include maintaining the program website and drafting program updates for various Earth Institute communications, and assisting in staffing events and meetings. Finally, the interns will support program faculty and program staff as needed.
Please note: if you graduate in May 2016, you are not eligible for this position.
Requirements: Applicants must be full-time students at either Columbia or Barnard. Applicants cannot be employed by any other University department or hold any teaching assistant positions: CGA, TA or RA/FRA.
Skills required: The position requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. The candidate must be able to work well under pressure, coordinate diverse responsibilities and exercise independent judgment. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous administrative experience is preferred. Applicants should be highly motivated, and detail oriented. A strong interest in the environment is preferred, but not required. Intern must be able to start on May 25.
Compensation: $15/hour, 15-20 hours a week.
