Internship with Center on Sustainable Investment

The Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, a joint center of Columbia Law School and the Earth Institute, is seeking an administrative assistant intern for fall 2015. The center is the only university-based applied research center and forum dedicated to the study, practice and discussion of sustainable international investment.  See below for a full job description.

Job description:
The Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment at Columbia Law School is seeking an undergraduate or graduate work-study student to assist with a variety of administrative and operational tasks. The center is a leader on issues related to foreign direct investment in the global economy. The center focuses on three workstreams: extractive industries, land and agriculture, and investment law and policy, paying special attention to the sustainability dimension of international investment.

The work-study position primarily will entail helping with administrative tasks related to event planning and the day-to-day operational functioning of the center (e.g., drafting administrative forms, managing website and tracking website activity, preparing newsletters and other mailings, assisting with event preparation, etc.). The intern will also be expected to assist with editing and formatting center publications, preparing expense reports and invoices, and coordinating travel and accommodations for center staff members and guests.

Job requirements: Prior administrative experience a plus, but not required. Attention to detail is a must. Those with long-term availability are preferred. Hours per week: Minimum of 10 hours up to maximum of 20 hours per week

Start/end date: Start: ASAP; End: Dec. 31, 2015 with possibility of extension

Pay Rate: $14/hour
