Internship Opportunity in Executive Director’s Office

Job title: Fall 2014 Administrative and Research Intern, Executive Director’s Office

Job description: The Office of the Executive Director at the Earth Institute is seeking an intern to assist the Executive Director’s Office in providing administrative and research support. Intern’s tasks include administrative work such as phone and desk coverage, photocopying, and mailings. The intern will also support the executive director in research for reports, book chapters, articles, case studies and presentations, and editing as needed. The interns will also support the executive director’s initiatives, which may include: providing support for the planning and execution of events, meetings, conferences, seminars, and special programs.

Skills required: The position requires excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and precise in order to provide high-level administrative and research support. The candidate must be able to multitask, work independently, and be discrete with confidential information. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  Applicants should be highly motivated, professional and detail-oriented. A strong interest in the environment and sustainable development is preferred, but not required.

Internship details:  We are looking for an intern to join us for fall 2014, with the potential to extend through the spring semester. Extended duration is dependent on performance. Candidates should be available to work 10-15 hours per week and will be compensated $15 per hour.
