Have you ever wondered what can spark collaboration between artists and scientists? Witness as first “dates” unfold between two featured pairs of artists and scientists, and then have your turn at meeting potential collaborators of your opposite discipline.
This Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m., join Earth Institute’s PositiveFeedback 
initiative, in conjunction with Marfa Dialogues/NY, for an evening of artist/scientist speed dating. The first pair will be Annea Lockwood, a musician and composer, paired with Gavin Schmidt, a climatologist with NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) The second pair features Jennifer Monson, artistic director, choreographer, and performer, dating Shahid Naeem, a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at Columbia University. Eli Kintisch, a writer for Science Magazine, will moderate the event. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served.
The event will be held at Robert Rauschenberg Gallery on 455 West 19th Street, between 9th and 10th avenues. Spaces are extremely limited. Sign up here by Nov. 4 to guarantee a spot.
