National Grid Joins the Corporate Circle
The Earth Institute is pleased to welcome National Grid into the Corporate Circle, a collective partnership of leading corporations from across the globe committed to pursuing sustainable development objectives. With a generous gift, National Grid will support sustainable energy research at the Earth Institute.
In Britain and the Northeastern United States, National Grid runs systems that deliver gas and electricity to many millions of people, businesses, and communities. The company aims to deliver clean energy to support our world long into the future. In pursing this aim, National Grid supports the development and implementation of sustainable, innovative and affordable energy solutions.
In meeting this challenge, National Grid supports the work of the Lenfest Center on Sustainable Energy, which seeks solutions that will satisfy increasing demands for energy while reducing environmental footprints. National Grid’s generous contribution will support the Lenfest Center’s on-going sustainable energy work, such as research in sustainable energy technologies and Carbon Capture and Sequestration, as well as support for students and outreach efforts.
This new partnership will bring together National Grid’s goals in expanding the supply of clean energy and reducing carbon emissions with the ground-breaking energy research conducted by the LCSE. By partnering to achieve shared objectives, National Grid and the Lenfest Center will work to develop energy solutions and help create a more sustainable tomorrow.
