Partnering to Expand Access to Water: PepsiCo and CWC Announce Achievement of Safe Water Goal
Earth Institute partner PepsiCo announced today that the company has achieved its stated goal of partnering with organizations, including the Columbia Water Center, to provide access to safe water to three million people in developing countries by the end of 2015.
Through the PepsiCo Foundation, PepsiCo has collaborated with the Columbia Water Center to identify and execute projects to provide access to water resources to millions of people in underserved communities in China, India, Mali and Brazil.
The company’s announcement was made in conjunction with the Earth Institute at the State of the Planet Conference, which is being sponsored by the PepsiCo Foundation. The Earth Institute and the PepsiCo Foundation have had a successful working relationship on water-related projects since the Foundation’s $6 million grant in 2008 helped found the Columbia Water Center and launch several innovative projects.
