Open House Event: The Earth Institute’s Certificate in Conservation and Environmental Sustainability

Join us and learn more about the Earth Institute’s Certificate in Conservation and Environmental Sustainability Executive Education Program, which offers:

1.) In-depth understanding of conservation science and practice, focused on biodiversity, water, and energy.

2.) The opportunity to study with the Earth Institute, Columbia University and public and private sector practitioner faculty, who are leaders in the field of environmental sustainability.

3.) The chance to join a community that thinks critically about the environment and its intersection with the economy and society and seeks solutions to the challenges we face.

4.) A flexible, comprehensive, and rich curriculum designed to meet the needs of the working professional or “the citizen-scientist.”

• 10-hour “modular” courses from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Columbia University.
• Online courses available via CERC’s Distance Learning Program.
• Receive an official transcript from Columbia University.
• The full Certificate can be completed in as little as 9 months.
• Enroll in individual courses or complete the full 12-modular Certificate program.

Certificate courses are taught by Columbia University faculty and researchers from the CERC Consortium as well as adjunct faculty who are current practitioners in the public and private sector. This includes faculty drawn from the the Earth Institute’s 29 research centers and programs as well as individuals from IBM, TruCost, USEPA, and the Green Business Council to name a few.

This breadth of experience and diverse set of perspectives inform curriculum development to reflect scientific expertise and current hands-on approaches to environmental sustainability.

Through the Certificate Program, professionals from all sectors can gain the knowledge and tools to make sound decisions about business activities and policy practices that impact the environment.
