Presently I am doing a literature review. Am looking for model programs and theories for government to change existing health systems from large hospitals to smaller, closer to community , and more ( quantity)primary health centers with community health workers being an active part of the system.

if anyone has any information on governments deciding to stop building hospitals and start replacing hospitals with p health centers please write to

I would point out that in both the cases of PIH and MVP, we have chosen to use technology to integrate the CHW program into the overall Primary Health Care system using an open source, standards-based approach involving OpenMRS. MVP's system is called Millennium Global Village-Network (MGV-Net) and these are gaining a lot of attention as reproducible, locally-owned and scalable technology supports to the overall CHW program.
