The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said just last week that Americans are getting too much fluoride, and lowered the fluoridation of water limits. The department says that 2 out of 5 adolescents show signs of dental fluorosis, or discoloration of teeth caused by too much fluoride. While the health officials downplayed the significance of this turnaround, it's sure to spark a renewed controversy on the issue.
